    The following commands will make your text file manipulation a bit more comfortable.

    Showing the contents of text files

    • cat – concatenate files and print to standard output or file
    • less
    • more
    • wc
    • grep

    Comparing text files

    • diff
    • sdiff

    Text input/output manipulations

    • sort
    • cut
    • tr
    • sed
