Raspberry Pi 4 Wow, Raspberry Pi 4 is now available with 8GB of DDR4 memory! This is still a crazy good value for something that costs less than $100 ($75 for just the Raspberry Pi itself, actually) and runs modern operating systems with most of functionality you come to expect from a Linux desktop!
It’s especially good news because Raspbian becomes Raspberry Pi OS and gains full 64-bit functionality - meaning all that 8GB RAM can be addressed properly by all the apps. Rapsberry Pi OS 64-bit is in beta for now.
I decided not to order one right away. There’s plenty to learn and try with my existing hardware lab, Kali Linux on Raspberry Pi 4 is a great experience. But something’s telling me that I’ll be replacing one of my oldest mobile Intel CPU based servers with a Raspberry Pi 4 soon - it’s showing age and gets increasingly limited with its 2GB of RAM.
